Final Sunday at Ichikawa

Although we officially finished our programme yesterday, today was really our final goodbyes to some of the children, parents and helpers at the Chapel of Adoration.  We had hoped that the second time around would be less emotional but the immense generosity and hospitality of everyone here made it every bit as difficult.  We are [...]

Today was the second day of the Kids’ Gospel programme at Chapel of Adoration.  We were encouraged to see that that children were a lot more willing to get involved and interact with the team.  The kids have been very receptive and now know four of the songs for Saturday’s concert.
Over the past day Elaine [...]

Back at Yotsukaido

Phew!! It’s been a long, hard day.
This morning we said goodbye to our home-stay families.  We are all very grateful to them for providing meals, beds and the opportunity to experience the Japanese lifestyle.  I hope everyone was able to take something away from it.

Konbanwa.

This is how to say ‘Good evening’ in Japanese as we learned this morning in our language introduction.  Everyone, well, mostly everyone arrived at the orientation on time today- indicating that the worst of the jetlag might be behind.  However Graham has helpfully suggested that it isn’t going to be until tonight that the effects [...]

KIDS’ GOSPEL TO JAPAN

This is a familiar piece of Scripture,

For God so loved the world that he sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3: 16
Familiar to us, but not so familiar to the people of Japan. The population of Japan is 125 million [...]
