Hi to all you guys back home!
This is going to have to be a quick blog entry to give you guys some info. on how today has gone. We have all managed to return from our homestays and our last experience of Japanese home life intact and with memories that will stay with us for a long time to come.
The concert has been and gone and has been another resounding success – my aren’t we modest! The Chapel was full of parents of the children taking part in the concert and church memebers and even some from OMF. The general feeling from all of them was that it was very good and that they all enjoyed themselves. The kids sang amazingly well and seemed to really enjoy themselves throughout the afternoon.
Well we are now having a bit of a relaxing time before we get changed into our summer Yukata, supplied by a lady from the church – very generous! We are then heading to the river for a fireworks display – don’t think it just for us. They are making an excuse of some festival that happens every year to celebrate the start of summer – such an excuse! So we will have to go now and get ready, before we get shouted at by someone for being late!
But before I sign off, I would like to invite you to a bit of high tech communication. We have 2 laptops that are Skype enabled and we would like to offer you the chance to speak with us tomorrow afternoon (3pm local time for you) via this.
To sign up to this, go to http://www.skype.com and follow the instructions to install the programme. This is a free programme that will allow you to talk free from computer to computer, so e-mail us with your skype user name and then we can join you! You will need a microphone to be able to talk with us, if you have a web cam then we can see you also!
So we’re off now and hope to hear from you tomorrow – literally!

Like Angela, We’re just so glad to be in touch again and to know that your homestays and concert went well . I hope you got some video of the children ,aren’t they great ,singing in English. Let’s hope the words of the songs stay with them a lifetime. Certainly various praise pieces have buzzed round my head whilst you have been away and ” Men of faith ” especially, in so many of it’s words sums up your situation . What a faithful God we have! Hope you had a brilliant time at the picnic and fireworks tonight and tomorrow brings many blessings to all at your last worship in the chapel. Looking forward to skyping with you tomorrow! Love Sue & Robert
Hi Team,
Sorry you guys are near the end of the trip and I’m only leaving a message now, my husband doesn’t let me get a word in but there’s nothing new there…We have been following your progress carefully and also look forward to Angela’s update at the Sunday services which is always very good – no pressure Angela! There are still a few confused looks from the back seats when she mentions the word ‘bloggers’!
David F – I bring greetings from all at BSW especially Linda. They were all concerned to hear about the ear thing so I’m glad its better now. Linda says to stop looking at the BBC website (there’s nothing of interest there at the mo!) and that everything at work is fine.
Holiday Bible Club starts on Monday so you can be thinking about that in your prayers, Lachy and I will be on holiday from Wednesday though (the things we do to get out of the drama…)
I love your Japanese dresses girls especially the little bags – how cute as for the blokes, well men should really stick to trousers, unless its a kilt of course!
Anyway well done for all your hard work. Glad everything seems to have gone so well.
Continuing to pray for you all
Take care, Debs x
Hi team,
Just thought I should leave a comment in case you think I have forgotten you…far from it you are all in my thoughts and prayers 24/7. I was delighted to hear the update and how well it has gone and we pray for the little children you have touched while there.
You all look very fetching in you Japanese outfits … well if the truth be told the girls do. Sorry guys men just don’t have the legs for it.
You are now heading into the final days. Enjoy your worship with Alison, Graham and the children tomorrow and then spend a relaxing few days together. We hope to speak with you tomorrow.
God Bless you all
Love
Lorna

Hi again everyone,
I can only reiterate once again about the happiness emanating from the wonderful photos. The looks on the faces of all the children are just wonderful to see and the actions to accompany the songs have been well rehearsed.
It must have been a pleasure for you all the teach such enthusiastic children. Glad to know that the concert went so well, and the service in the Chapel. It was good to see so many of a congretation attending the service. This must have encouraged all of you after your hard work. May the Lord receive all the glory! Let the little come unto Me and forbid them not.
I liked the lovely costumes and you all looked great in them; especially the girls.
Glad your home stays went well on the second occasion. These are times you will probably always remember.
Its great to see you all letting your hair down at the water balloon games. Hope it cooled you down.
Sorry we are not up to scrath with the technology, like you Stuart, so we won’t be joining you tomorrow. Hope it goes well for all those who can take part.
‘Bye for now
Love and blessings N a P x
Stu,
Your havin a laugh Skype now as well as blog – can’t wait for the new church website it could be so interactive we could have DB preach to us through skype and we won’t have to get up so early on Sundays
David,
Any truth in the rumour that your ear has got better now that the music has stopped (only joking Elaine + musicians), though you needn’t think you will get back in the band, Geordie Hewitt has the young ones playing whist your away – so you may be redundant.
Though I will gladly welcome you HBC if your over your jet lag at tail-end of week.
Kenny
