Voorsprung durck teknic
As people (of a certain age) with an interest in cars can testify, Audi used this catchphrase in an advertising campaign, a few years ago. Although I don't recall a tranlation of the phrase ever being given, the perception was that it stood for reliability, quality, luxury etc, etc, etc.
It wasn't untill some time later that a translation was offered. Ian McCaskell, the face of the TV weather forecast at the time, was delivering a particularly bad, winter weather forecast; predicting ice and snow and sub zero temperatures. At the end of this he offered this translation.
Voorsprung durck teknic (or whatever way you spell it!) - My car won't start!!
Of course, I don't believe this translation for one minute.
It seems much more appropriate, for those people who can't sleep when they could sleep, and who could sleep when they can't sleep, that, as they attempt to rise in the morning they might easily say -
Voorsprung durck teknic - My bed is holding me hostage!!!

In spite of the humour, we're all still concerned about you not getting enough refreshing rest because of the heat and humidity, so it remains a continuing prayer topic.

Bye for now

David, SORRY TO HEAR ABOUR YOUR EAR!!! I have suffered similar and I know how irritating it can be, particularly as it amplifies my own voice and reminds me what an awful singer I am. Hope you all had a good rest today and enjoyed the meal Alison cooked.

We are praying that, as the Kids group commences tomorrow, it will be as successful and uplifting as the Yotsukaido experience. Remember God is in this and he will not let you fail. He will supply the stamina to replace the lack of sleep and He will be glorified.

T & J

PS. Keep the pics coming. They are keeping us close to you all.

Hi team. Glad you enjoyed some R&R with Graham and Alison...enjoying a meal together...thank you Alison and Graham too, for today and for everyday thoughts and prayers.
The schedule for this week must seem almost overwhelming, especially when you are a little tired and the heat and humidity sap energy. HOWEVER, daily bread is just that. Needs will be met as each new day dawns in the land of the rising sun. May God's risen Son be your strength for today and hope for tomorrow as you wait upon HIM to renew strength.

As always, we commit you all to God's tender care and await our next post. Can only imagine how excited the children must have been when they went to bed last night, knowing that Kids' Gospel begins this morning!!!

Love 2U all ooooooooo and G,A,K&D oooo

Hi,
Tell Suzanne her mum sent her an email. hopefully, you are all sleeping and you won´t read this until tomorrow. It is important that you get enough rest to be able to keep up to schedule that you are trying to keep. If it is to much try to split up and have more coffee breaks.
Will be thinking and praying for you all.
Tomorrow we return to Sunny Belfast. Will probably not be back until this time to-mrrow.
will try to check the blog before we leave.
God bless
LOL to J+S
Bye
Dad
XOXO

We apologise for not getting our commnets to you yesterday. We had a very hectic day, one way and another.
However, let us begin by saying congratulations to every one of you on the team. How very hard you have worked on your first assigment. The comments prove how Yotsukaido people took you to their hearts. Yes, goodbyes can be very difficult but you will always remember the days spent with these beautiful children.

Stuart, the photos are all really good and it has been great to see the little ones performing and looking as though they are having a ball. They were very studious as well to have learned the songs so quickly.

We will be praying for all those who came in contact with the team as you all professed your faith in many ways that they will have been moved and one day accept Jesus as their Saviour. We will keep Pastor Ohashi sensei in our prayers as his is a very difficult task but we all know that nothing is impossible with God.

Now for your latest blogg - doing the laundry!!- Did Stu and Lou do theirs?? Only joking. We do hope that you get enough rest now before the start of your next phase of your time in Japan.

Sorry to learn of David F's mishap. We will be thinking about him and praying that he will receive help to relieve the pain he is suffering.

All the best for tomorrow at the chapel.

P.S. Thank you Stuart and Louise for my Birthday Greetings

Love and blessings to you all
