Phew!! It’s been a long, hard day.
This morning we said goodbye to our home-stay families. We are all very grateful to them for providing meals, beds and the opportunity to experience the Japanese lifestyle. I hope everyone was able to take something away from it.
The morning began with a final real practice for the children and they have done very well to have learnt all the song lyrics. Afterwards the families in Yotsukaido church had prepared curry for lunch. We are very thankful to them for providing food while we stayed in the church building.
In the afternoon we had our “gig” at the train station and after this, the owner of a local music shop asked if we would play at the entrance so we were able to run through some of the Irish music again which was a lot of fun. Elaine did very well with her testimony once again and we thank God that she had the strength to speak about these personal matters in public. Louise also did so well on the tin whistle that some of the flute players from the music shop may come to church in the morning. We are encouraged by this.
Once the music was finished Pastor Ohashi took us to a Japanese Barbecue restaurant for dinner. おいしかた (it was delicious!)
We have had our final practice, please pray for the concert tomorrow:
- That some of the children may be interested in attending Sunday school
- That some of the parents may speak to Pastor Ohashi about the subjects raised in the songs
- That everyone will get a good night’s sleep
Best regards,
Stuart

It sounds from your blogs that you are all still standing!!
Well done to you all and for the encouragement you have received from the local shoppers, etc.
Rach, we will be thinking about you as you give your testimony in church tomorrow. You know that you have One who stands closer than any brother. We will be praying that the Holy Spirit may prompt some of the folk who have been listening to you, to attend church tomorrow as well.
We praise God for the encouragement you have received from Pastor Ohashi and for his kindness in taking you all for the beautiful b-b-q.
Love and God’s blessings on you all

Hi Guys
Glad you have survived the home stays and that the music is going so well. We are praying that God will use all the different mediums you are using for His Glory and that many people will be challenged by your witness. The more I read the more I wish I was out with you guys (just a shame I have no musical ability!) Continuing to pray that you guys will get a good sleep- it was a bit clammy here the other night but I was grateful it wasn’t as bad as what you guys are going through.
Keep up the blogging and every blessing

P.S. Can you ask David McK if he bought the wii?- he can e-mail me lachyweb@yahoo.co.uk
hi team japan
just catching up again and reckon with the time difference that you’re probably getting up for church now – praying for you rach as you give your testimony a bit later and through the other prayer points. Looking forward to mum Anj’s update @ church in the morning – she did so well last week!
Elaine, sounds like you’ve worked wonders with your band of musicmakers – a brief question form one still here…what was the trumpet piece to practice for 29th aug?!? seems to be getting closer and is eager to get started, not to let himself down on the ‘big day’! (hope this isn’t too cryptic! well done on your brave testimony)
love to you all – in our thoughts & prayers, even if we’re not managing to be frequent bloggers!

Hi all,
Good to hear that the “gig” at the station was so well received and we are praying that some of the people who heard you will feel moved to attend church today.
Arf, hope you are not feeling too nervous about your testimony. Remember, God will be glorfied and he will provide the words.
We will be praying for Pastor Ohashi that he will have the opportunity to speak to some of the parents and that some of the children will wish to attend Sunday school.
